38 Weeks and possibly the last post before Baby Boy Comes.

Let's hope and pray! Yesterday we went to the doctor again with high hopes or well...medium size hopes of being admitted that day.  We are just so anxious to meet this little man! Also, mommy just wants to be able to sleep on her tummy/back/basically any position that she wants to!  The night before I got very little sleep as Colin decided to stay up all night long and practice his soccer kicks and/or boxing moves. This kid is strong!! I'm hoping it's strength and not SIZE.  :)  So yesterday my nerves were all in knots thinking and hoping (somewhat) that today would be the day. Obviously, yesterday was not the day.

There really hasn't been much change.  They checked my fluid and ran another Non Stress Test on me.  He wasn't moving much yesterday but I'm sure he was sleeping as he moved the entire night before.Everything checked out good. We go back first thing Monday morning and from there a date is decided but it will be without a doubt next week. I get a little nauseas when I say or think that the time is here.  I've been walking trying to get this baby boy to drop some more. I wonder if a pregnant woman has ever had her ribs broken by her unborn child?  I wouldn't doubt it. So Monday, I may be able to post and let you know if Monday is THE DAY or Tuesday or Wednesday...etc.  I've semi-learned how to post via my phone but I highly doubt that if I get admitted, blogging will be at the top of my list of things to do.

Keep us in your thoughts and prayers.  I'm not sure what to expect and the unknown is always a little scary.

I was thinking that I am way past due to post pictures of the house.  I will get to that one of these days.  We are still in the process of unpacking and I'm sure we will be for quite some time.  However, for now, it does look like a home. I will try to post pictures sometime this millenium. ;-)

P.S. Tylenol PM rocks. I actually slept through most of the night last night.

P.P.S. Check out the lastest addition to my List of Blogs over there >  My cousin, Donna Kay has started her photography business and she's taking amazing pictures! She's coming to MB at the end of May!

Spring Break

Our Spring Break was busy and loaded with great company!! Only wish time would have stood still so we were able to enjoy our sweet company a little longer! Saturday started out our travels.  We went to Florence after a crazy storm hit the South!  The insane wind took out our bistro table and my hummingbird feeder.  Other than that, we were okay.  It was more wind than anything around here.  We got to Florence Saturday evening and stayed with my mom and Randy.  Sunday, we got up to celebrate Danny's graduation and to see Brian, Jessica, Cole, Cam, and Case who had come in from IL and Uncle Jim, Janie, and Delayne who had come in from OH.

Grandpa had his video camera out and ready and so we knew he had something up his sleeve. We were just not sure what.
Then this bubbly man came in- Captain Telegram

The entire gang whose cheeks were pinched and sung to by Captain Telegram.  Thanks Grandpa for the Surprise!!
Case getting kisses from his mommy. :)

Uncle Brendan was making silly faces and Case returned the favor by making his own silly face.

Colin's First Love Letter

and it's from his mommy! :)

Dear Colin,

My sweet baby boy! I'm not able to hold you in my arms just yet but the time is getting closer and closer until I am able to. I've been told how amazing and life changing it will  be once I hold you for the first time.  Life has already changed for your daddy and I. From the moment we planned for you to the moment you became real, our world has been all about you and the love we have for our growing family. We love you so much already. Your daddy has been busy getting everything ready for you and I've been pretty busy myself worrying about you. I hear that never changes as well.  Please don't break mommy's heart and have me worry TOO much.
We were able to see you in 3d. Your grandparents were there too and were able to see how good looking and silly you are. I think you are going to look like me but act like your daddy.  I am okay with this because son, I sure do love your daddy a whole lot! If you look like him, it's okay too because you have a very good looking daddy! Mommy did good for us!
I know you will be both a mommy and daddy's boy.  While you're busy growing in my belly, you're also very playful with your daddy. He taps on my belly and you tap right back.  We are going to have so much fun being your parents.  You make our entire life so joyous and exciting.  We are so anxious for you to get here.
It will not be much longer. Possibly this week or next and you will be here in our world and I promise to do everything in my power to protect you and raise you with the same love and morals that your daddy and I were brought up with.  You will be a southern boy regardless of what your daddy says. I know you'll be a grits eating, sweet tea drinking, camo wearing kind of boy.  I can live without the camo but please like sweet tea and grits!  Please get here soon safely and healthy.  There are a lot of people who are excited to meet you but none more excited than your daddy and I.

All of my love,

Mommy

And we're now at 37 weeks

These posts are getting more and more difficult to get to. I do not think I have ever been this tired. I do nothing and am exhausted from it! I've enjoyed my Spring Break so much thus far! We've had excellent company and will get more in a few days!  I'm quite excited about our guests! We get "home sick" here at the beach and very much welcome visitors. The weather here has been A-MAZING! 80 degrees and UP. Our AC is now on. woo hoo!  I've been hot lately and breaking out into a sweat! Hormones!  I am very thankful that I will not be pregnant during a South Carolina summer.  I'm swelling up now; I can't imagine what I would look like when it's 95 out and the humidity is insane! I would be a marshmellow.  Yea! Exactly that.  As pale as I am...a marshmellow is just the right word!

So today we went to the doctor for our weekly appointment and Colin's heart rate was 154. Last week it was 127. It fluctuates so it's normal. I have only dialated 1 cm but I am 50% effaced. We're getting there! It could be like that for a while.  Let's hope not! Our doctor said it could be next week OR the next! We're waiting and anticipating! Just taking it week by week.

At this point in our pregnancy:
Colin enjoys being on my left side.
My left hip is killing me.
My right foot is twice the size of my left.
Colin gets the hiccups a lot!
His kicks are HARD and they hurt a little!
He has "dropped" some.
He's still in "postion".
I think I should set up camp in the bathroom. I am constantly tinkling!
The bottom portion of my belly is very tender.
Colin likes to put his behind in my ribs.
We are actually able to tell that it's his behind.  I think he is his mama's child when it comes to that dept. :)
He still does not like Peanut Butter but loves gummy bears.
He enjoys music.
He wakes up at 5 am.

I ask that you please pray for my team at work. I am so blessed to work with such wonderful ladies. I'm so worried that my maternity leave will be stressful to them. I just hope I've done enough in preparing my students and my plans for my substitute. Also, a dear friend is going through something that I just couldn't imagine and my heart is heavy and she is in my constant prayers.

Pictures to come soon of The Talty's visit!! I say that, but in reality, in may not be that soon considering I have become the laziest person on the planet.

40-4= 36 weeks!

Yesterday, we had our weekly doctor appointment and I did not get to hear those sweet, sweet words that I so desperately wanted to hear which were "Any day now!" Meaning, the last week of April I would be induced. Maybe next week they'll be a change!! haha  Dr. Price said that everyone says that but as soon as he gives a date, I'll want to push it back.  I am not sure if I fall in that category because I am READY! I am ready for my hip to start hurting, my body to stop growing, morning sickness to END, and of course to see, hold, smell, kiss, and snuggle with our son. The last one really should go without saying!

I am measuring ahead again. When I asked, the nurse said "Definitely!" Not sure how much ahead though. I asked but then the doctor came in and was ready to do his thing so I never got an answer. She also said while measuring me "Girl, you're about to pop." Which I am. I feel like I am. Seriously, how much more can a belly grow?!  How in the world did Kate carry 6 babies in that belly of hers?! Bless her heart!! Bless her body because OUCHHHHHHHH!!  Let's see what else did we learn....Oh yea, I gained 5lbs in a week. I knew it would catch up with me. I'm not complaining because I know it's a good thing to gain while pregnant!  Also they are thinking the week of May 2 will be when Colin comes into this world.  He may share a birthday with his Aunt Jessica or with my other half, Jillian!

Tomorrow marks my last day of work.  Tonight will be the last time that I manually turn on an alarm to wake up until August. I'm a little sad! I'm going to miss my sweeties!! Although this week, they haven't been my sweet, sweet babies! But you know, it's been a while since we've had a break and they need one just as much as us teachers! Tuesday, I had a baby shower at work and got such wonderful things.  God has truly blessed us and knew exactly where he was placing us although it was difficult for us.  I am super excited to be at a school that I love with people that I love and students that I love!  What a blessing to have a job that I love!!

This past Saturday, we celebrated Griffin's 1st Birthday!  Can't believe this little guy is already 1! I remember so vividly waiting for him! It's scary to think that this time next year we'll be planning our little's 1st Birthday Party!  Happy 1st Birthday to Griffin who I know has made the world a little brighter just by being in it.

He did not like it when Mommy put his hands in the cake. It was very cute to the rest of us though.

My Team Members! Minus Brandi who was out that day.
Christy, Melissa ( my assistant), Colin and I, Katie, and Marlene = The sugary, sweetest ladies you'll ever meet!

Can you believe it?! 35 weeks Pregnant!!

And look at my feet!!

NOT!  Those are DEFINITELY not my feet. My toes do not look like fingers and I do not have spots. You know good and well my toes are painted all pretty and pink.  :) However, they ARE definitely swollen. Elevating is NOT an option as I have this huge belly that does not allow my legs to go up or my body to go down. Shoes? Ohh, I am in slip ons only and I am about to leave those for flip flops only. Now if this South Carolina weather would just cooperate and allow me to wear flip flops in NICE, warm temps, I would greatly appreciate it.

Yesterday, we had our 35 week check up and I gained 0 lbs this week.  I'm very surprised because my appetite is definitely UP UP UP. No lie, the other day, I came in- ate a piece of cake, some BBQ potato chips, and a bowl of cereal....and I only stopped because I knew my dinner was going to get spoiled.  This week, we've started to pack our hospital bag including what Colin is going to wear home! Which was the hardest thing in the world to find!! Brendan thought I had made up this imaginary rack with this imaginary outfit for Colin but I knew exactly what I wanted in my head.  I'm pretty content now! I feel more ready. As strange as that is- that an outfit makes me feel more ready for this little guy.  I can't explain it. Next week, I think we get a more definite date as to when our son shall be arriving.
I've also started washing Colin's clothes.  Gosh, where did the time go?   Brendan and I absolutely love spending time with one another and now instead of the 2 of us there will  be 3 and I just know our hearts will be so full!
Next week is my last week of work! Then it's Spring Break and then the following week is the possiblity of Colin coming into the world. We are and have been quite busy!  April is proving to be a busy, busy month! You know me though, I like it busy.  Last weekend, we went to Wake Forest to see my "brother from another mother", Billy tie the knot to his bride, Emily.  Billy and I grew up together and his mom and mine are best friends.  Billy was the one who videoed our wedding. And did an amazing job might I add.  They had their wedding outside and it was beautiful!  The wind was crazy strong that day which made for a chill! Here are some photos my sweet, husband took:

My "brother and sister"

Gina looked so beautiful and her dress was amazing!

Yea, that hottie is MY husband!  :)

Billy walking his mom in.  SOOOOOO stinkin' sweet!
He "swept her off her feet" Crazy pic right?!
This was Billy waiting on his bride.
