Kitchen Project 7-10

Step 7: The dining room and guest room have been relieved of their duties as kitchen storage. I did some major rearranging and we are still going to the wrong cabinets and drawers to get things out. We'll get used to it soon enough.
 Step 8: Cabinets are painted!

Step 9 and 10: New light installed under the sink and cabinets are UP.  My kitchen is now usable!!

So.... BEFORE

And...AFTER

Thanks to my more than amazing husband who deals with working all week and then coming home to get things done in the kitchen.  He really has worked hard. I appreciate and love you Brendan for all of your hard work and for making me so happy! Muah!!

Next stop: Counters.  Ohhhh brudder! This one may take a while..haha

My little star :)

Day 3 Nassua, Bahamas

We arrived at Nassua, Bahamas on Friday morning. We got off of the ship and had an awesome view of Atlantis.
Look how blue and clear that water is

Unfortunately, it will be a week or so before Day 4 will be available and that's only IF my pictures turn out. I had to send those pictures off...those pictures were not taken with our digital camera.

Day 2- Heading to the Bahamas!

Day 2 of our Cruise- Day at Sea. Somehow I convinced Brendan to lay out with me...
Which resulted in him getting sunburned....as usual.  I sure hope our children have my skin so I can take them to the beach and not have to worry about them frying in the sun.  :)  He is letting the aloe dry. I was smart and figured he'd burn the first day so I made sure to grab the aloe.

While on the ship, storms were all around us at sea. It was pretty crazy to see the storm beside us knowing that is was miles and miles away and seeing where it was raining! I'm a weather fanatic so of course I thought it was way cool.

We took advantage of the super fun slide. That was the deal breaker for Brendan.  Me -let's lay out, we can go on the slide!! Brendan- Okay!
The Captain's Dinner.  It was hard work getting Brendan into a tie.  ;)  I am telling you! One of these days, that man is going to give me some beautiful children. I have SUCH a HOTTT husband.  :)

Our First Anniversary

What a way to celebrate our 1 year anniversary!! No better way that cruising the Atlantic!

Wow! A year has passed so quickly! I seriously cannot believe that it has been a year since we've said "I do"  Although this has been a hard year, I know that I am blessed with an amazing husband and couldn't have survived it without the love and patience from Brendan.

Brendan,
More and more each day, I love you.  Just when I think I'm completely full and couldn't love you anymore, I overflow just a little more.  I am so grateful that I continously fall deeper in love with you. I love spending every day with you and I love it when you call me "wife". Being your wife has been the best title I've had thus far!  :) Thank you for simply being the incredible person that you are! Elephant Shoes!!

Our Wedding Cake! We were really hoping that it would taste as good as it did a year ago!!

And it did actually taste pretty good! See our champagne glasses of MILK?  :)
Milk Mustaches..Brendan just couldn't get his to stay.
This year has been an incredible year as his wife and he as my husband.  I am so excited for the many more anniversaries to celebrate with each other.

((Cruise Pics to follow....eventually...hopefully soon...maybe even today....keyword here is maybe))

Kitchen Project Step 3 -6

I sure hope I can keep track of these steps that I am numbering to our kitchen project. We're behind on our project so we really kicked it in gear during this past weekend.  Saturday, we got up and spent the entire day sanding the remaining kitchen, priming ALL cabinets and the kitchen, and of course emptying out our kitchen.  Oh........................My.....................Gah.......................  We started a little after 12 and I think ended around 1 am.  The kitchen is a complete and total disaster area.  The fridge and range are pulled out. It is totally out of use.  The guest room and dining room are full of our kitchen items. Seriously, who knew that much stuff was in a kitchen?! I literally had primer paint ALL over me.  Brendan had like none!  I soaked myself in hot water hoping that it would come off and I thought for sure I had gotten most of it off until I got up the next morning and noticed it still on the back of my legs and all on my forearm.  Sunday was all Brendan.  Unfortunately, I had to spend the day with icepacks on my back. All of the work from the day before rendered me helpless for the next day's work. I am so sore. It hurts to even get up.  So I spent Sunday making sure I could do whatever I could off of our to do list for the Bahamas.

Last Post before we're headed off to celebrate 1 year of Marriage!
My dining room errr slash kitchen. Let me explain the balloons. Brendan, as you know, wears hats ALL OF THE TIME.  So naturally, they get dirty and he has to wash them.  You can't really iron a hat so he blows up balloons and the hats dry while being on the balloon- "fake head".  I know that you're thinking, wow, that's pretty clever. haha That's my Brendan for ya!

Our guest room errrrrrr slash kitchen
Primed!
Just little example of how much paint I had on me. I am still scraping, scratching, scrubbing it off of me.

Just a little on the trashy side

This past weekend, we were slack as all gets out of carrying on with our kitchen project.  This weekend maybe the priming will get done.  But back to as to why we didn't get anything accomplished this past weekend.  Brendan, Justin, and Keith all have birthdays near each other.   Brendan and Justin are in May and Keith is in June.  So they had a joint Birthday party in which the theme was "White Trash".  Go figure!  :) I didn't realize it was a themed party until the day before and do you know what?  I didn't have to buy anything for the party.  I mean wardrobe wise. I mean, Hello?!  Where am I from?  But in the words of good ole' Dolly Parton "It's expensive to look this trashy".   :)  Around here trashy = classy.  I'm kidding of course!!! I swear, Brendan put on his attire for the party and I said "OMG, you look like my Papa"  It's not at all that my Papa is trashy.  We're just country folk and that often gets portrayed as being redneck or white trash.  Brendan has called me a redneck plenty of times but us true southern folk know the real definition of a redneck.  ( B is kidding when he calls me that by the way...I'd tan his hiney otherwise)

Let me explain B's hat.  I am a USC alumni so naturally we are Carolina fans NOT Clemson fans.  Clemson is an agriculture school, is really in the middle of no where, and has a bunch of country students so Brendan thought it would be funny to wear this as his trashy outfit.

Brendan made me this awesome tattoo. I'm thinking about getting it permanent.  NOT.  :)  He did do a great job.

Summer Project: Step 1 and 2 out of a million

I say summer project in hopes that it will be completed by the end of the summer. Otherwise, we will not be having company over at our house for a long while! Brendan has said for a while that our kitchen needed some work and I totally agree. The flooring and countertops are outdated.  Not to mention..umm ugly. We have many projects we want to get accomplished around the house but we really wanted to get the kitchen done before thinking of little Talts.  :)  Last weekend, Brendan took all of the cabinets down and I got to work sanding them. Yes, you read correctly. I sanded.  I sanded and sanded and sanded.  Brendan was sure to get a picture because he wanted to catch me in action actually doing some labor.  He seems to think this is going to be a project that I'm going to bail out on with the labor.  I am a prissy girl but I do think I will help out!  :)  We want to complete the priming this weekend.  We shall see. Oh! Also, our island from the kitchen is currently in the center of the garage where it has been sanded (thanks to me also) and primed (B did that part).  BUT now that I am thinking about it...I think Brendan likes to take on tasks by himself and doesn't want my help.  Example:  I changed my mind about our guest bathroom being grey ( uck, what was I ever thinking?!) and I wanted to change it to a aqua blue color.  He did not allow me to paint it...he did it all.  So if you read back on here that he has done all of the work to our kitchen, it's because HE wanted to do it all.

Bye Bye Cabinets.
Brendan hard at work. Sorry for the blur.

...and Jenn hard at work.

Oh and to those American Idol Fans

I picked correctly.  :)  I'll give me vote for the Bachelorette soon. Give me another episode or 2 and I'll have my guy.

MB

Last Saturday, my mom and I headed down to the beach for the day.  We were very worried that the weather would not cooperate with us, but luckily, it turned into a beautiful day!  We layed out on the beach for a good while.  While on the beach, we noticed a crowd growing and of course me being as nosey as I can possibly be, got up to see what was going on.  By the time I got over there, the crowd had moved on. What were they looking at?  A turtle.  A pretty big turtle.  I was quite excited!  I started taking pictures.  Then I made the comment: "I've never seen a sea turtle before. I'm not sure that this is a sea turtle." Then the owner came up and said he was not a sea turtle but a ????? turtle.  So I was embarrassed that I took a picture of someone's pet. So I texted Brendan a picture of my "Sea Turtle" because I thought he would be like whoa, that's so cool. BUT he never got the txt.  Oh! And I failed to mention, this past weekend was Bike Week at the beach. TRAFFIC was horrendous!  I am a beach bunny for sure.  Ideally, I would love to live closer to the ocean! I grew up going to the beach almost every weekend and in high school, it was nothing to just pick up and go to the beach for the day.  Here in Columbia, you can't really do that.  3 hours from the beach versus 1 hour, ya know?  I hope everyone had a safe and wonderful Memorial Day Weekend!
