Is it too late to go into hibernation?

29 Weeks Photo:

So this week I had to return to the doctor to get a check up and to get my results from my GTT. ( Glucose Tolerance Test)  I passed!!! I barely failed the 1st test. You have to get a 140 to pass and I had a 142 therefore I had to sit for 3 hours and fast the night/morning before and have my blood drawn 4 times.  Not that I am complaining because I am relieved to know that I am in the clear but it just stinks that I was THAT close to passing the first test! Oh well!  So Colin's heart was the slowest it has been thus far. And it's still NOT slow. 150 bpm  He moves a lot and is active most in the morning and in the evening. My student's love to give him lots of rubs and hugs. He loves his daddy's touch and voice. Colin is also pretty predictable. Between the hours of 4-6 am, he wakes me up and plays and kicks. He is such a mess already. Gosh, I can't tell you how much I love this kid already!  The dr. said I was measuring a week ahead but that was okay! And the nurse said, "wow, you're all out front" which is why I think people think I am further along than what I am. I have heard all this week, "I don't think you're going to make it to the end of April".  I kid you not...the nurse at school included!  At LEAST 4 people this week have said that to me.

House news: The closing attorney that our realtor suggested sucks in a MAJOR way. We thought we were closing last Friday....we didn't. Then we thought we were going to close tomorrow....then it was changed to today...then TODAY they decide that it will not work today and it is for sure tomorrow.  They suck and I will not be passing their name off for anyone else to use!  I think our realtor should seek someone else to recommend as well.  Just our opinion.  :)  Last weekend, we headed to Cola to load up our "house" out of Brendan's parent's garage and put in my step-father's racing trailer. It will be coming to MB this Saturday to be unloaded into our new pad! THEN we'll get everything out of the APT.  Anyways, I know I drag things out but the point is that we will be moving this weekend into our new home and we can finally start settling in!
I can't wait to post pics! We are excited but I've got to be honest, just thinking about this weekend is exhausting me.  This last trimester is kicking my rear.  I am ALWAYS so so tired.

I promised soon!

Colin smiling. :)

Sweet boy crinkling his nose. Again, does anyone in the family do this? I'm curious!
Look again. That is not his foot.  That is his arm and his hand. His hand looks to be like it is in a fist. He played with his hands some. He grabbed his wrists some as well.

Sleeping. That's his hand resting on his cheek.

Chubby Cheeks

This is what took so long during our ultrasound to find out if we would be saying HE or SHE. He's got his legs crossed again! Although, most of this session, he showed us that it was not to be mistaken- he IS a boy! We've got plenty of pictures of that too but I'm not posting those. His dad would have a fit!  Look at those chubby wittle footsies!

Doin' the "Homer Simpson"- "Doh!"  Count em' up. There are 5 fingers! He was probably like enough paparazzi, enough!  We just couldn't get enough of him!

Isn't it amazing, the technology our world possesses? I loved seeing our baby boy and I loved that our parents were able to be there too! I'm so excited and can hardly wait!

Well, I am off to my 3 hour sugar test. ughhhhhh.  Please say a prayer that I pass this time. I am starving as I had to fast.  After this test, I am heading straight for food.  It was hard not being able to have any sugar yesterday. Especially when I got so many sweet Valentine goodies from my sweet, sweet kiddos!.

Sneak Peak

I will add many more pictures later. Soon! I promise!   I just wanted to share a little bit about our 3D/4D session yesterday. I am in total awe of this sweet, precious, wonderful baby God has given us. It amazes me how much I can already love this little guy. He amazes me! God has truly amazed me once again!  This growing little person that lives inside of me has taken over my world.  Him and his daddy mean more to me than I could ever begin to explain. My heart is so full. I love you to no end Colin Michael and Brendan Michael!

I can not believe that I was tempted to NOT get this done! If you're expecting, I HIGHLY recommend this! It is insane how awesome the pictures turn out! At the beginning of our session, Colin was being a stinker and turned his back to us.  He also enjoyed showing us his rump. Luckily, he learned we were not going anywhere until he gave us what we wanted, so he gave in and showed himself.

Things we learned about our little boy:
  • He crinkles his nose. The technician said it might be a habit of his and he may have little lines from doing this. Brendan nor I crinkle our noses.  Who did Colin get this from? It was cute!! He did this several times.
  • He's got hair!! A lot of it already! 1.5 cm so far. We've got a few more months to go. His daddy came out bald and his mama had a little bit but it seems like Colin is going to be like his Uncle Kevin in the hair department!
  • He sucks in his bottom lip and sticks out his tongue. A habit his mama sometimes does.
  • He is playful! He not only kept showing us his rump but he also showed us several times that he is 100 % BOY.  We got the message, Colin. No pink for you. He also took both hands and feet and pressed up against my tummy. Beating on me! :)
  • He had the hiccups!
  • He can open and close his eyes.
  • He's got chubby cheeks!!
  • He has long fingers and long feet.
  • He has calf muscles!! You should see this guy's muscles! I told you he was a soccer player! He has done his fair share of kicks in my belly so those muscles should be pretty strong!
  • He IS his father's son. During our session, Colin gave us the bird. This is how we know he has long fingers. He held up his middle finger for us for a few minutes.
  • He is the most beautiful baby I have ever seen. I know I'm probably bias but I honestly have never seen anyone so beautiful as Colin. He is so handsome and I can't wait to compare the pictures taken yesterday to the day he arrives!

And the one his dad is proud of:

More to come so check back soon!

We've got a closing date!!

It's happening!! We're moving!! Again.  You know I was just thinking about how many times I have moved in the past 5 or so years. And I counted it...Want to know the number? - this will be the 4th.  Wanna know how many times since I've graduated high school? - This will be the 8th.  i yi yi!  I sure hope we're done for a while!

Oh right. So the part that actually drew you into reading this entry. A closing date HAS been established! A walk through will be done on Wednesday and if everything looks good- closing on Friday!!! Which means we'll be moving out of this apartment on Saturday and the following weekend, we would head up to Cola to get the rest of our things!! Goodbye Gigantor upstairs shim neighbor!! We've got a house!!!!  Last week we ordered Colin's furniture and we've got to paint and get his room ready.  That is top priority for me...which is probably a little silly considering I can't do much.  That's right, feel sorry for us and come and help! haha Just kidding.  Thank you guys for all of the prayers and love and support in our endeavors to move and to find a place to call home.  I honestly think once we're settled, it will feel more like home.  Everyone keeps asking how do you like living at the beach. Well, we're living out of boxes right now so not very much! haha  But that will soon change and we can give a better answer to that question.

27 Weeks

Hello third and final trimester! It's so awesome to see you, but I have to admit, you've made my daily activities a bit uncomfortable.  Bending over, standing up, getting up, tying shoes, sitting on the floor are just a few of the things that have really become a task to do! However, I am anxious and excited because we are closer to meeting our son.  Crazzzzzzzzy.  But exciting!  So yesterday, we had a doctor's appointment where I had to drink this really sweet concoction and then have my blood drawn with a "butteryfly needle". I've got small veins and they tend to be hard to find.  Anywho, so I had my glucose test done.  I decided to take the day off from work since I had this hour long test and it marked 1 year since the passing of my dad and I just didn't know how the day would go for me.  Brendan was such a sweetheart and came with me.  I get a phone call this afternoon telling me that my glucose levels were elevated and that I need to now take a 3 hour glucose test. I failed my test! booo!!  I will get pricked and blood will be taken from me 4 times.  UGHHHHHH.  Now, I'm wishing I did not take the entire day off yesterday because now I have to take a good portion of the day off on Tuesday to take this test.  I need my days for Maternity Leave!  However, if there is a problem, I'd like for them to be able to discover it and treat it so I won't complain too much.  So think of me Tuesday as I return and hope for better test results.

On the house front.   No date set yet to close which really stinks because we've already began the process of packing up this little apt.  I went by there today after work (which I timed it and I'm 8 minutes from my job!!!!) to take a peep through the windows and it looks like they've NOT done much of anything.  We were hoping to close on Friday but I am throwing that out the blessed window! It ain't gonna happen! If it does I will be THRILLED but I'm not holding my breath at all!  We are very ready to move in!  We even bought this slammin' refrigerator to go in the new house.  Oh. My. Gah. Did I really just say that? About a fridge?!

This upcoming Saturday, we are getting to see Colin in 3d and 4d with our folks!  Pretty exciting.  They told me to drink a lot of water the week leading up to the appointment.  I am trying but this baby boy LIVES on my bladder and I'm having to fill it up....you can imagine, I'm constantly making visits to the ladies' room. I'm talkin' I stand up and it's an emergency!!   I hope to post pics of little man from the visit! I'm not sure what all I get!

Ehhh hmmm.

If you've not noticed the little countdown to the left there...We are LESS than 100 days from meeting our son. We are actually even less than what the # over there says since the Doc says end of April is when our sweet one will be making his grand entrance.

Today as I was driving to work, I started to think about when I go back to work after Colin's born and dropping him off with the sitter for the first time. I actually cried a little.  Hormones?  Maybe. I like to think of it as I just already love this little boy so much that the thought of him not being near me is just sad!  I love this kid so much already and we've not even met yet. A colleague said to me,  "you just wait, it's like your heart walking around outside of your body".  I am so excited!! I can't wait to hold Colin and to hear him laugh and coo.  I am looking forward to all that lies ahead of us.

Anywho, I was just excited because we are in double digits for the countdown..not triple!  Time has flown! You guys expected a countdown, right? If you followed our wedding blog, then you probably are not surprised.

Housing Update: It is going to take us A) winning the lottery or B) many, many years to fill this house up with furniture.  We are not at all complaining because we are excited to have a house!  Closing date has still not been determined.  Let's hope that is SOON.

We go NEXT weekend to see our little guy in 3d. Too cool.  Hope he participates and is not camera shy!

Sweet Surprise!

My sweet friend, Cassy, surprised me with this amazing Carolina Wreath that she made! I got a message that I had a package and just thinking it was Baby Boy's bedding, was definitely not expecting this! It's so wonderful and she is so wonderful! It definitely made my entire week! It even has a little gamecock rattle and bear!  Our little Carolina Boy is ready for football season.  Thank you again Cassy for this awesome, creative wreath full of Carolina gear and little pampers!  It's so awesome, I'm going to have a hard time taking off the goodies! :)
